Sydney. Day 1, 26th March 2016: (Darling Harbour > Sydney Opera House > Ms G's @ Potts point)
Landed in Sydney. Took the Sydney Train from International Airport to Central Station.
And then walked to our hotel.
Hotel: Breakfree on George Sydney
653 George St, Sydney NSW 2000, Australia
Checked in, washed up. We were supposed to go to the Paddington market but ended up we couldn't make it in time, so we skipped it.
Went to get the internet card instead. And then we walked to Darling Harbour. Totally reminded me of Finding Nemo. Hehehe.
We basically just walked all over, into the malls and all. Then we started strolling to the Sydney Opera House. Which was about 20 minutes? Around there because we were walking really slowly.
Along the way, we bought us a Golden Gaytime! I love ittttttt. The crumbs started dropping everywhere and it was so funny.
We then got to Sydney Opera House and that was where we took our first selfie together! *insert thrilled face here*
Continued walking until we were on the side of Sydney Harbour Bridge. I continued taking photos while the boy said he was going to rest up. When I was done about 2 minutes after, I couldn't find him and I swear I got into a little panic attack mode. Because, geez, what am I going to do there without him?! And goodness. I pretended to look okay because I thought he was joking around. Ended up, he was actually lying down on the patch of grass behind. #demchillzlife
We got hungry, realizing we didn't have lunch. So we cabbed to Ms G's @ Potts point (which I just saw Gmaps that it's near Kings Cross Station). Ohmy. The food. Definitely worth the wait. We were told to wait about 30-40 minutes before we could get a table. So we said okay, and decided to take a walk. We went to the liquor shop round the corner, got some beer and a really amazing cider (should have bought more *scowls*). We then headed to Coles Supermarket. Did some grocery shopping like a married couple *awww*. And then headed back to Ms G's after loading our pushcart with cookies and unhealthy food and some peaches and nectarines.
Food was aaaaaaaaaahmazing. Not a huge fan of lamb but it was mmmmhhmmmmmm. Salivating all over my keyboard now. And the cheeseburger in a spring roll? Sweetmotherofmonkeymilk.
Day 2, 27th March 2016: (Bourke Street Bakery, Cow and the Moon, Bondi Beach, Chat Thai)
We took a cab down to Bourke Street Bakery - the one that caught my eye out of the list his friend gave. Yeah, I did a lil research but yes, chosen one. We waited out for his friend, James. Placed our orders. I ordered a pear danish and a lemon curd tart. He ordered some pork something burger which was really really nomz.
It was drizzling when we were, and we could only sit outdoors. The rain gained some weight after a few bites into my tarts and we were forced to evacuate the scene. Interestingly, I noticed the fat droplets bouncing off my hot chocolate, causing my hot choco to bleed a few brown tears.
After we gobbled our food, we headed over the cafe right opposite, and as they caught up with each other with afternoon beer, I sat there, picturing what my life would have been like if I did my final year of UON in Australia. What I've given up. But I don't regret it. I would still have chosen what I did, because some things are still more important.
Shortly after, we decided to head down to Cow and The Moon, which sells ice cream. Funny how James ordered 2 flavours with a cone but ended up not being able to finish it, and then plopped it into our 3-flavoured cup. Nothing special here though.
Cabbed back down to Bondi beach, which is probably my favourite destination because we just strolled aimlessly around, hand in hand. And I enjoyed every moment of it even though my feet was popping blisters and I could feel my skin tear as we walked blocks to get a cab.
Bondi Beach was perfect - perfect sun, perfect weather, perfect view, perfect company.
We caught a cab back to the hotel and just, fell asleep.
We were going to get dinner but the queue was cray at Chat Thai's so we decided to walk around the city's city area. Bought some fries because I was greedy. Headed into a Jap restaurant and shared a bowl of udon (was it?) It was really good, actually.
Can't remember the sequence I think we probably went back to the hotel, again because everything was closed. And decided to wait for James to join us for dinnz. When he called, we headed back down to queue for it. Wasn't a long wait, and the queue was definitely definitely definitely worth the wait! Best Pad Thai I've actually had. (although honestly, I haven't really tried much Pad Thai anywhere. Hahahaha!)
And that pretty much sums up the trip.
Because we then headed back to the hotel after, and then did nothing the next day. Except to put food in our stomach when we were at the airport.
Oh, I forgot to mention that we were last to check in our baggage. And usually, I would be a stupid fool to actually queue in line to check in. Prolly will get him to buy a burger or some snacks or something while I waited in line. But we sat down, had a decent meal and coffee. I did feel the urgency but he was calm and it soothed me. Surprise surprise.
Never thought someone can have an aura strong enough to soothe me.
Because I'm a worrier, and I worry about a lot and I am afraid of rushing things and forgetting stuff.
Like when the airport guy had to check me, again, even after I passed the checks. Only to notice that he was trying to be funny. Shithead really scared the hell out of me. Geez.
You know what, I never thought I would ever be so trusting, to have done Z-E-R-O research on Sydney and solely relied on him as my tourguide. I didn't know how to navigate around, what places of interest there were, what to do in Sydney. And I can't be any more thankful that we went on this trip. Because while we don't know each other, we found out so much more about each other.
The flight back was a really, really long ride. To go for it, or not.
Right now (18/5/16, 6.11pm), as I'm writing this, we're officially together. But he also called for a time-out.
And it sucks. It sucks so so so so so badly.
Because all I want to do, is to see his face.
I wish we could go back to when we were in Bondi Beach. With everything perfect, with him.
I miss you.
